Rubavu public beach
Rubavu is one of most beautiful place in the great lakes region with sand palm beaches, easily accessible in the heart of Rubavu town.
The site is protected and very friendly it also has great tourism recreational value, but needs to be developed in terms of attractive tourism activities such as water sports, beach volleyball and diving.

Serena beach
Serena hotel own a private beach on shores of Lake Kivu, the place is accessible only for hotel clients.
Only accessible by hotel clients, the beach is very clean and possesses all needed facilities for water sport activities such as:
swimming, kayaking, surfing and boat tour.

Tam Tam Bikini beach
Tam Tam Bikini is a private owned beach bar and restaurant, it’s the only beach which organizes monthly music beach party and where one can swim while enjoying music from the bar bungalow on weekend days.
The place is easily accessible few meters from Kivu Serena hotel but needs renovation and development of water sport activities.

Historic attraction:
Mount Rwaza cemetery
1918 First World War graves, the site is known as a burial place for Belgian soldiers who died during that war against the Germans.
The cemetery is currently in bad condition, the place is not protected and it is left abandoned.
A site with high historical value but needs a better conservation mechanism.
The site is easily accessible as it’s situated along the main Kigali – Rubavu road, 2 kms from the town center.

YVKE
Yvke is an eco lodge, located on the Bralirwa bay Lake Kivu shores.
The eco lodges was constructed from local materials and possess a splendid scenic view on Lake Kivu.
They also provide barbecue service, boat tour and swimming facility.
The place is easily accessible as it’s situated few meters from the Rubavu Methane Gas station.

Rubavu Methane Gas station
World unique experience
The first ever made Methane gas to electricity experience was developed in Rwanda from 2005, the station started producing power in November 2008.
The station which is easily accessible by road from Rubavu town center, can also be considered as a tourism attraction for its uniqueness and ecological value in terms of energy saving.

The Rubona Hill Panorama
Rubona hill, situated in Nyamyumba sector is a potential attraction for its large and unique panoramic view on a big part of the region especially on Lake Kivu shores, Rubavu and Goma town with the famous Nyiragongo volcano.
The site is easily accessible by car from the main Rubavu – Bralirwa road, only 4 kms from Rubavu city center.

Pfunda Tea Route Experience
The Pfunda tea route experience is a unique eco tourism attraction due to its accessibility and permanent contact with local community. From tea leaves to your tea cup process need to be developed
COOTP a local cooperative and the Pfunda tea factory were identified as the two major shareholders for that tea route experience development.
The site is easily accessible, situated 9 Kms from Rubavu city center on the road towards Musanze

Historic attraction
The late Bishop Bigirumwami’s Residence
The residence was built in 1947 by a Belgian colonialist and later renovated by the late bishop Bigirumwami, the first African – Rwandan Catholic bishop.
Besides, this beautiful residence, the site has a scenic view of Lake Kivu, accommodation and camping facilities provided by La Maison st Benoit of Kigufi, catholic sisters managed guest house.
The Kigufi site has a magnificent garden on the Lake Kivu shores and situated 10 kms from Rubavu town center; the place is very attractive and can be developed as a tourism destination if linked to other tourism activities.
