Nyamasheke district – Nyungwe (WP)
Nyamasheke district where Nyungwe is situated is located in the Western Province of the country and lies on a mountainous region.
The district features many tourism attractions on the shores of Lake Kivu, with several Islands, Tea plantations, and Nyungwe national park. The area is also known for having the longest and biggest bay on the Lake Kivu Rwandan side (The Kayenzi Bay).
The capital town which has the same name as the district is situated in Kagano sector and is located 12 kms from the main Huye Rusizi road.
Nyamasheke at the southern shore is a truly tropical place with beautiful peninsulas, bays, and lake-side markets.
