Faculty of Agriculture

Welcome note

The Faculty of Agriculture at the National University of Rwanda provides high level training to forthcoming professional Agriculturists. We are committed to incorporate the three NUR core values stream-lined in our mission into our curricula. We strive to become responsive to the needs and challenges in the agricultural area in Rwanda.

We offer four undergraduate programmes in Animal Science, Crop Science, Soil Science and Environmental Management all leading to the award of Bsc. All these share most of their first year, covering the basic physical and human science needed for understanding the agricultural field, its context, relevant skills matched with ICTs. The first three share modules during the rest of the programme – e.g. soil fertility watershed management, agricultural engineering, geo-sciences, agricultural economics and farm management. They include a period of internship.

Our students and staff benefit from a tremendous working environment that enables them to fully exploit their potentials. We also offer Masters degree in Agroforestry and Soil Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Irrigation and Drainage. Our mission is providing access to quality education, conduct research and provide services to the community.

Visit our website and find out for yourself what the Faculty of Agriculture has to offer. We provide professional skills to suit the National, Regional and Global context.
